Took a class today with chef Preston. His class was excellent and his knowledge of Nola history was second to none. I have taken other cooking classes in Nola over the past years in other places and this was the best. I highly recommend the classes here. I will take another when I return next year.

Business response:

We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed Chef Preston's class and learned a lot about Nola history, Thomas! Thank you for recommending us and we look forward to having you back next year for another class. If you have any questions or need further information, feel free to give us a call at (504) 344-3977.

Fabulous class! We appreciated the chef’s attention to culinary skills but also the history lessons. Our class helped us learn about Cajun/Creole culture and the rich traditions of South Louisiana. We will definitely be back!

Just experienced this class on 11/15/23. Upon arriving, I was greeted by positive and friendly staff, who opened up their kitchen and refrigerator for the evening… fully stocked with wine, beer, and soft drinks. The facility was beautiful and clean. So fun! Chef David was amazing. What a beautiful, kind soul. He was incredibly skilled, the food was delicious, but most importantly, the process was fun and engaging. The three hours were spent with a great balance between instruction, hands on learning, and eating a delicious... read more

I can recommend The Mardi Gras school of cooking without reservation! My family and I took the Creole class with the amazing Chef Preston. It was great to learn about the history of the food we were creating. Chef was patient, funny, knowledgeable and so genuine. What a great time we had. The food was amazing! By far the best we had while in New Orleans (and I'm not just saying that because we made it). We enjoyed the experience so much that we booked another class with Chef two days later.

Business response:

Thank you so much for the great review and recommendation, Gene! Chef Preston is one of the best and we are so pleased you enjoyed your time with him at the Mardi Gras School of Cooking!

Easily the best part of my family's trip to NOLA. First and foremost, thank you to Preston, our chef. He was amazing! So kind and generous and a fantastic chef. From the first minute we arrived it felt like home. We were so impressed at the end of the first class we had already booked a second session! Highly recommended! You will not be dissapointed

Business response:

Awesome class! Chef Preston was great. We did the brunch class. He really explained cooking methods well and gave us great little tid bits on things we can do in our cooking. The food was fabulous. My one suggestion is to go slow on eating. By the time the crab cakes were ready we were stuffed from the shrimp and grits and caramelized bacon… but we ate it all anyway because is was so awesome… problem is we won’t be able to eat another bite for a couple days!

Business response:

Hi, Koko! We appreciate your kind words and awesome review. It's hard to eat slowly when the food is so good! Bon appétit!

We attended the Mardi Grad School of Cooking recently and loved it! Chef Mark was a great teacher. We learned how to properly make a Roux (both oil and butter based), Shrimp Etouffee, Andouille Sausage & Chicken Gumbo and Banana's Foster. I can honestly say it is the best I have ever eaten. We took notes but the recipes provided and the techniques learned are top-notch. We have already made the Shrimp Etouffee on our own and were very pleased with it. I cannot recommend the Mardi Grad School of Cooking and Chef Mark more. Th... read more

David did a great job with the Traditions class. Our original date had been overbooked, so we were rescheduled. We were the only two students, but David did not skimp on the lesson. Great mix of hands on and demo of techniques. The food was amazing and we will definitely try making it at home. Thank you, Mardi Gras and David!

Business response:

Hi, Chris. We appreciate the kind words and are glad we could provide you with a positive experience!
