This is the second time I have made a reservation for two where my guest showed up before I did and was seated. I was seated later but not told of her arrival. I texted her to see if she was lost, and she texted back that she was in the restaurant. Lame excuses for this behavior.
When I googled Antipasta Bar in NYC, this restaurant came up. It is very Touristy and definitely not a "locals" spot. The food was okay, nothing magnificent, I would not come here again. Our serve was a little rough around the edges, but nice.
Ask Joe Pesci to wait on you
Horrible, awful service. We were seated outside where it seems they just forget about you. Convenient location to Carnegie Hall but I shouldn't have to beg for drinks and silverware (to eat my food with) and then get a bill at the end.
It was a lovely restaurant with very good cuisine when we last ate there about 5 to 7 years ago. Currently in NY and took family there pre-theatre. Sadly, the food is now more like cafeteria fare -- the antipasto bar, always a favorite, was limited and no longer offered seafood (cost cutting, said the waiter). Eggplant capanato and haricot verts were inedible; lentil and corn salad barely palatable. Potato with roasted chicken was undercooked (we think), did not taste like a potato, and had an odd consistency. The pasta dish... read more
The seafood risotto was crunchy and the shrimp was cold The table, upstairs, was not well served - the food was delayed and the waiter apologized, and it’s far away from the kitchen The main level is much nicer It’s really unfortunate because we have not had a bad experience there before
My father and I went here before a show and he was raving about how great it used to be and it was far from great for both of us. The famous lasagna was about as beige as a food can get and just as uninteresting to eat and his seafood risotto was bland and each piece of seafood indistinguishable. All in all we were disappointed. It was unfortunate but we won't be returning when we're back in the area.
We didn't stay. It used to a nice place years ago. Now it needs a full renovation a good scrub to take the moldy smell out. The decoration is outdated the vinyl chairs all but need wheels and you can call it olive garden. Awful.
Food had been reheated multiple times. Lasagna tasted burnt on top and lukewarm internally. Nice convenience to Carnegie but definitely a tourist experience and not great value for the price. Service was negligible. Had to ask to order and for check and then to pay
