This is usually a favorite spot for both food and service but on this occasion the service was very disappointing. Hoping that it was an exception.
Noisy, tables too close together, not an enjoyable experience
Food portions were small
The service was terrible. My wife's food was cold. very disappointing
We were a group of six seated in a lovely small room, the wine room, that allowed for conversation. Although the others liked their food, my dishes were awful. I ordered the braised octopus and calamari. It was served in a spicy brown sauce like nothing I've ever had. The menu certainly didn't describe it. I also ordered the calves liver, which the waiter recommended. It was unpalatable, again in a spicy brown sauce and cut in small pieces, unlike anything I've ever had by that name. Waited to the last minute to book a pre-theater dinner and could only get a rez here. Seated and waited ten minutes, lost my patience and grabbed the nearest waiter who took our drink orders. Cocktails were mediocre. I ordered chicken parm. Was a huge dish of flattened chicken with melted cheese and very little sauce. Was sooooo dry. I then ordered a side of pasta with red sauce which arrived about 15 minutes later after main course was finished. No waiter ever approached our table. We had to flag one down every time we want... read more
At several times at the restaurant in the past. This will be my last. Service was lacking- table wasn't ready... finally sat down and there was no napkins, or glasses. The Waiter looked overwhelmed by all our requests for things that one would normally expect for a fine dining experience like water. So unfortunate as this was one of my faves to visit when in town. Food quality has decreased since last visited about 2 years ago. Too bad. Next time in town, I'll be going to Greenwich for authentic, high quality and well priced... read more
Dining room was half empty and a rowdy table was annoying everyone, the manager did nothing. On top of the rowdy table was loud shuffling of silverware throughout the entire dinner. Appetizers arrived on time. Dinner arrived 70 minutes after we finished the appetizers. Ravioli was hard and not cooked enough, the veal chop was undercooked. Veal was cooked more and came back out 15 min later. Ravioli was remade and for the second time came out hard. Pizza, lobster spaghetti, and artichokes were good. Server disappeared and had... read more
The food here was very mediocre. The menu was outdated and uninteresting. Service was not great. Clientele was a strange mix. There are much better Italian restaurants in NYC.
