If there’s such a thing as overly efficient service, this restaurant would qualify. From the moment we sat down until the time we paid our check was maybe 30 minutes. The food came out so quickly I felt as if they were trying to rush me out the door. There was no salt or pepper on the table, and I had to flag down passing servers for olive oil and Parmesan cheese-staples for most Italian restaurants. We booked a table as we had walked past the restaurant and the menu looked brilliant. The meal was ruined by the atmosphere in the restaurant and the terrible service. We were seated for 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there. Our drinks and food order were taken at the same time. The tables were so close together, and so many crammed into the place that we could barely hear each other without shouting. After many years (+10) of coming to this restaurant and bringing friends and family, we were very disappointed this time and probably will not return. It used to be one of our favorite relaxed NYC restaurants and one I would come to alone when in NYC on business, but this time it was very different. Terrible food. Shameful. Overpriced. I would never go back or recommend to anyone.
I had stopped by for lunch. Food was prepared much before. Terrible food and services.
Although the location is ideal for Carnegie Hall events, unfortunately, the restaurant is over priced and the quality of the food below average. I would consider it a tourist, not foodie, destination.
This is a typical tourist trap restaurant and a very poor representation of great Italian restaurants in New York City. The staff took advantage of our special occasion to trick us into ordering a very expensive wine, didn't go with the food we ordered, and once we tasted it, not even close to how the staff described the wine. Felt like we were dealing with a under car salesman. Would never go back to this place with so many other great options in NYC.
