This was a HUGELY disappointing meal at a restaurant that used to be fantastic. Service could not have been worse, slower, disorganized and the entire management of the place seems to be lacking. Very sad to see such a formerly great restaurant sink this far down - I will NOT be returning and recommend that people stay away.
There was garbage swirling all around the outdoor seating. At one point a McDonald's bag landed in the servers hand, who then just threw it down to the ground - rather than making sure it ended up in the proper receptacle. There was a cigarette filter stuck to the bottom of the appetizer plate, which was left behind on the table when the plate was removed. Unfortunately dinner on Saturday, April 29 was my worst restaurant experience in years, almost ever. Why.. I chose the restaurant for a special occasion. After a somewhat rude welcome from the Maitre D, the waiter brought the wrong main to our guest. That was after about 1 hour after ordering at the earliest. The waiter said it would take a "little while" but all of us finished our meals before the correct main arrived 20 or more minutes later. Awful service this time but always great food and most time ok service They do it right at the end
Have eaten at this restaurant many time before but probably never again. Was told that the "regular" part of the restaurant was not open yet and they tried to seat us at a table basically with another couple I asked if we could have the booth that was in front and was told no, we left
We were greeted warmly and our table was waiting, but then after the drinks order we were essentially abandoned for long stretches, and the food took forever to arrive (we were later told that we had ordered something that involved a long preparation, but that wasn't made clear at the beginning). It was a real shame, because the food is good, if overpriced (pasta is almost twice as much as at a normal NYC Italian place), and the staff is very welcoming and gracious.
Had reservation- seated 30 +minutes later Food poor for all 7 people- 101 layer lasagna was dry, no sauce, reheated, minimal flavor . Other entrees' no better. Skip this restaurant- NO reason to eat here with all the good Italian restaurants in midtown MANHATTAN
Way too tight upstairs. Food was fine, but others do better catering to the theater crowd. They were very accommodating to our children.
To say i was disappointed is at best an misunderstand. First, they did not have the Jewish artichokes, at 5:45 PM. The Cesar salad was tasteless, presented haphazardly an d drenched with that tasteless dressing.. The calves liver was filled with onions and other ingredients which obscured the liver itself the portion of which was embarrassingly small.
