We went for brunch, bad service, bad food, bad value, nice atmosphere. My Mom and wife ordered the Dover sole, very expensive and shockingly fishy – – like a really bad long John silver Restaurant meal. Lunch for four was $380 without a drink. This is the 5th time I've been to this restaurant, and sadly, probably the last. I realize that the timing wasn't the best--right before New Year's, but I was saddened to have such a negative experience. I brought my daughter (who's been there 3 previous times), and a friend who brought her 2 daughters. They had never before been to the restaurant. I have been here a few times. This experience was very much subpar. The hostess (the woman) was being very dramatic and arguing with the customers making everyone feel uncomfortable. Also, our waiter was not attentive at all. As for the food, our artichokes were literally burnt but we were scared to say anything since the waiter was already acting strange. Overall, I would say there was a lot to be desired by the end of the meal and I will not be back. Very hit or miss.

While the food is very good the service is NOT! We arrived early and decided to order an appetizer. The foolish waiter did not put the order in for our entrees at this time. We waited over one full hour to eat! Our entrees did not arrive until 7:00 pm when we had arrived at 5:45 pm. This is just inexcusable. It produced an anxiety and wondering where the **** was our food. I like this restaurant but I did not like the waiter (who should be fired). He brought a dessert (on the house) but it hardly made up for the bad service.

Very Disappointing. I used to go to this restaurant as a regular when I lived in NYC. I was excited to share what I remembered to be great food and service in a fun atmosphere with my boyfriend. It was mediocre at best. Seated in the boring, somewhat seedy back room by the host. Busmen chattering to each other, disinterested waiter until he realized that we were spending money. Food was unimpressive. We had to ask for things constantly rather than being taken care of. Sorry- I'll never go back or recommend to my friends.

This use to be my favorite go-to restaurant for years! Now it's an overpriced, crowded, noisy, mad scene with mediocre food and haphazard service. Had to ask for bread three times! Has good memories but I will not be going back.

Have been here a few times over the years. This occasion was a disappointment, primarily due to the service, which was slow (50 minute wait for food) and inattentiveness (serves all have that ability to NOT see you as they pass by to another table).

Despite incredible crowds, were greeted enthusiastically and seated promptly for a pre theater reservation. Our server was pleasant, but distracted. Subsequent to appetizers being served, it seemed as if the table disappeared from her view. We asked several times for additional water, which was not served, our dinner came and we had to clear our own plates, a second bottle of wine was not an option.
