Slow service In general, high prices for low quality plates, but pizza was good
My husband and I ate there a week ago. We have been many times before. He had the veal chop which was dry and overlooked. I had lasagna which was more like a big mess on a plate. Will not go back.
We were greeted with a glass of champagne. That was wonderful. We were celebrating with our granddaughter who was attending a concert at the Weill Concert Hall. This would be her first visit. The waiter neglected to bring my salad and I shared with my husband, had I knostroown, that would have worked. I ordered a pasta dish with bacon. Very friendly staff.food is nothing special.somebody must like it because it was full
Very disappointed in the service. I was embarrassed since I made the reservation. We were basically ignored most of the time. My friend gave up asking for something as simple as having oil put on the table.
I know it's NYC but the food or the service don't equal the prices they charge. I compared our service to the table next to us, which was inches away, and it was completely different. Their waiter told them about the specials of the day. We didn't hear anything about them. The dishes we ordered we way too salty and the portions were quite large. There are too many restaurants in the city for me to ever consider going here again.
We have not been to Trattoria Dell'Arte in quite a number of years but thought it would be a good fallback for entertaining guests visiting from overseas due to the great location. However, it was quite disappointing: it was quite loud, the food was not what it was when we were regulars years ago and the only thing it still has going for it is the location and ambiance.
The first visit was great, prior review. This time it was a little later and they were a little busier but the waiter seemed to pay appropriate attention to the tables around us. It took us 2 hours to have dinner. We were finished with our entries for 25 minutes before anyone came to ask about desert and that was after asking 2 other members of the staff who said they would tell our server.
