We have eaten here several times over the years and always had a positive experience. This visit was disappointing. None of us (4 people) enjoyed our meals. The food came out so quickly that it tasted as if it was pre-prepared and then reheated. My chicken milanese was dry and tough. As we were going to a show and on a time crunch, we did not send our meals back. We did, however, tell our server when he came to clear the table. He was very apologetic and offered to buy us dessert and coffee, which we declined. He brought us ... read more
A disappointment. Food was not well-prepared and small amounts of fish in the seafood pastas Crammed seating and disorganized.
I have been to this restaurant on 4-5 prior occasions and always had a good meal and attentive service. On this particular evening, the restaurant seemed overwhelmed by the crowds. After a 45 min wait for dinner, the manager came to tell one of us that the pesto had "gone bad" and could she order something else (note they did comp that dinner and a round of drinks). My seafood risotto, one of the more expensive items on the menu was supposed to come with lobster, scallops, shrimp, clams, calamari. It came with 3 half scallop... read more
Waited more than an hour for our meal! It was ridiculous. We mentioned to waiter we had a show to get to - and while apologetic, I'm not sure what happened in the kitchen as we ordered extremely basic items on the menu. Had to scarf down meal in 10 minutes. Guy next to us was drunk and so loud - it was all annoying.
Third or forth time eating here. This was our first poor experience. Ordered 3 anti pasta dishes as part of an appetizer option. After about 40 mins or more the waitress came by to say she didn't know what was taking so long with one of the three. So we gave it another 10 mins then gave up. They brought the other two - and then our mains - we never saw the third (stuffed mushroom - ??). At a place that deals with the volume of customers it does - all in all a weird experience. Restaurant waived the charge for the anti pasta ... read more
The food was good but not exceptional. Our service was not good. Our waitress disappeared for a half hour at a time. We ordered the roasted beets as a side dish. The menu indicated that the beets came with a yogurt sauce and pistachios. When they arrived, they had nothing on them. When we questioned the waitress (when she showed up a full 20 minutes after the food was delivered by someone else) she unapologetically said "oh, we ran out." The experience was definitely not worth the money. You can get much better service and f... read more
Our table was one of many jammed in against the wall. One needed to move the table to leave ones seat. The tables were close enough to be considered a family style dinner. Of course, one had to tune out the conversations from the two adjacent tables. I ordered the 100 layer lasagna; it was very dry and disappointing. My wife ordered scallops, which came with mushroom risotto. The scallops were good (all three of them), the risotto was ok. I would not return nor would I recommend Trattoria Del'Arte to others.
The restaurant is just too noisy. Because people kept flowing in, I imagine that this is a popular place albeit very close to the theatre district.
Waited a really long time for entrees. Almost an hour
