Having heard great reviews from friends, we were highly disappointed. Made reservations more than two weeks in advance, yet were seated by the kitchen. We asked for a different table and were sat on the other side of kitchen. Heard that service was fantastic, yet we were infrequently visited by staff and took 20 minutes to put our drink orders in. Too many great restaurants in midtown to waste my time and money here again. Will gladly return to our old stand-by, Becco's.
Trattoria Dell/Arte has a pretty good selection of mostly cold appetizers, and a great liver plate. But in general, if you count ambiance and service (and I do) as well as quality of the food, I prefer Redeye, right next door, with same owner, and far better kitchen as well as service and ambience!
I have dined at this restaurant before and always had a good experience. Unfortunately on Saturday I had a waiter that was far below the usual standards exhibited at the restaurant. After trying to get his attention about 5 times, someone came by, turned out to be the manager. I asked for my check, said the service was just awful. He apologized, asked me if I wanted dessert or coffee, I declined and he said he would get my check for me asap. Tables too close together. It was our 15th wedding anniversary. We couldn't talk to each other because it was too loud and we could hear every other conversation around us! Food and service was ok!! Wouldn't recommend it!
Too noisy, too crowded, inattentive service. Seems to be a tourist restaurant but not for natives.
Stuffed into overcrowded noisy low ceiling rooms for overpriced food is not my idea of dining
Inattentive wait staff. Two items that were supposed to be warm were served cold.
I took some out of town guests here because it was close to their hotel. The reason I won't go back is they take advantage of their guests. The waiter cheerfully offered up some "specials" for that night, one of which was Pepper Veal Parm. Both my guests ordered it. I got quite a shock when the bill came and those two main courses were more than double the cost of the other dishes, including the regular Veal Parm. It was our 25th Anniversary we reserved 4months before. We were hoping to have a romantic table. We had said when we reserved that it was our 25th anniversary but with all that 4month planning it was just not romantic and just regular customers walking in and there were other quieter areas we could have been seated at. Overall very disappointing
