if you are planning to see a saturday night broadway show, and don't want to be seated before 6 PM, do not eat here. they pack the diners in, and cannot accommodate you in time.
It was a very busy night at the resto, but: we were seated about 20-30 minutes late; scallops were served cold; my tuna was served tepid and the sauce was way over-balsamicked; my guest's raviolis were also tepid. Not a great outing.
The table they sat us at was very small for 5 and right int he middle of everything!
I usually love this restuarant; however, lately it has been very unreliable. The hostess was unfriendly to the point of being hostile when I asked her to honor our reserved request for a table in the back. I had to return my entree as it was inedible. It was disappointing to the point that I doubt I'd return. A shame, as it was one of my go-tos in the city.
I took seven friends to dinner at this place on a Saturday night. I chose it because we needed a place near Central Park. Huge mistake. Our waiter left us with a large basket of various breads and never returned to take our order. We finally flagged another waiter, who took over our table, but it was an hour before our food was served. When it arrived, the pasta was overcooked, reminiscent of Chef Boyardee out of a can. Very disappointing. The food seemed mediocre at best, after an excellent meal a month ago.
Frantic environment pre-theatre. Service awful. Despite informing waiter show time, received main course 20 minutes before. Had a been a very good restaurant in past, time to move on to a new venue.
I don't usually take the time to write these reviews but our service was TERRIBLE. I had expanded the reservation to 7 people , so the restaurant tacked on a standard 18 percent gratuity. Our waiter was never around, the service was so slow and then it got to be midnight, everyone wanted to leave and the check was nowhere to be found. We had a good meal, food was good, and the restaurant was crowded after a concert at Carnegie, but I would think twice about going back.
My aunt and uncle recommended this place. I have to note that I am a strictly gluten free diet. I called ahead and they said that they could accommodate me with my diet restrictions, no problem. I do have to say that I ordered that veal and found it not tender at all and the gluten free pasta they served me was terribly over cooked and had no sauce what so ever.
