Although I think the quality is superior vs. competitors in our market, and the installation process is minimally disruptive vs. tearing out the old frames and trim, I would advise a friend to explore the cost of a contractor to install quality windows. We bemoan the loss of some of the field of vision with a window insert, as well as the larger interior “frame”. We were not in a position to wait, and chose UWD to bypass those issues. In the end, the installed product we received created a beautiful improvement in our home. We felt our salesman lacked knowledge about the products we needed, greatly delaying the beginning of our project. We were quoted for in-frame replacement windows by the salesman, but, due to the very poor condition of our window openings, we needed full tear-out windows. Windows are great.. communication not so.. installers showed up one morning this week & told my wife they brought wood for new inside casings which we knew nothing about.. my wife freaked out.. called me home.. it worked out & Denver was cool so all good.. then we asked Denver about the window repair & he knew nothing about it.. then we asked him about our faded front door & Denver knew nothing about it.. customer service called next day.. sent Jim out to repair window & looked @ door.. hoping we can get a qt of paint to rep... read more
