our salesman was great and the installer team was great, but the issues of waiting until 5 minutes before our cutoff time day of install, telling us that the team did not show up. mind you this is May. one of the windows were made wrong(I get stuff happens), lack of communication with production manager saying they will call back and never did, finally come the time my window is in and ready for install at the beginning of August they said they couldn't have it put in until September! Not happy one bit. We are going on 3 weeks of not a single response from our sales rep or his manager. We are sitting with a house of some new windows, some old, and 2 new but broken and unusable. Three major issues have occurred and none have been resolved: 1. They measured 3 of our windows incorrectly, twice, and now we are waiting on those to be made and delivered. Stay far away from Universal Windows and here’s why, if something goes wrong the customer service you have to go through is HORRIBLE. Bought windows for my house December of 2020. Installed in March of 2021 when an installer broke one of the windows. They said it would take 1.5 months to get a new one. We said ok I guess. Nothing else we can do. We call in May. WE. NOT THEM. Do not use this company! I ordered my front door/front entry way through them over a year ago July 2020. it took them three tries before they even got the door right, Except a little piece outside my skylight window needed painted brown to match the rest of the door. After waiting two months for them to have someone paint this little strip of wood, they send their service tech out today with white paint and white trim! the service techs and sales person I dealt with were great. I was not told the Whole or even Half Truth about my Windows! I really needed windows, but HOA at my Condo needs Approval, so though that is not on UWD, the down payment they took and the financing I am signed up for and will have to pay payments to for my windows are a Load of you know what! We were so very impressed with the salesperson who came out to do the initial contact. The price was right and the contract was signed and deposit given. We had to wait over a month to have the tech come out to measure for the door. Once again we were very impressed with his punctuality and personality. He explained the whole process and what would happen next. Today we get a call from the initial salesperson saying that it would now cost $3000 more! The installer is the only person who was good with this company. They have now been out to my house 6 times and they haven’t gotten the capping right yet. They have brought out the wrong color twice! Finally they sent someone with color swatches to match so we shall see about the next time. Ordered windows in October. They came in February and took every window out at once leaving our house freezing and our heat cranking. Install was very slow since it was just two guys. So eight windows were taken out for hours. Then they couldn’t install a large picture window because it wasn’t measured properly. They just came back now, mid May to install the correct picture window and another window (my daughters bedroom window) that was broken when they installed it. Do not order windows from these people! We ordered our windows in November and it is now May 18th and we are still waiting for the windows to be put in completely. We took one day off of work and they put the outside part of the windows in and that was a rush job because one of the guys was leaving for vacation that day.
