My 76yr father had a stroke, after hospital he stayed at Vasona Creek for 6 weeks. His right side was affected by the stroke and we weren't sure whether he would ever be able to walk again. He left the center using a cane. The nurses and therapists were very helpful, patient and cordial. My 80yr father fractured his hip and stayed at Vasona for a few weeks to do his rehab. He could not walk when he checked in and walked out of the center with a walker when he was done. Positives - The PT and OT people are great. They will work with the patients twice a day and the patients will get better if they are willingly to exercise. Don't come! Terrible! Awful! Physical therapy department lied so my parent could get discharged early Forgot to give medication Discharge was over 2 hours late. A patient used my car as their personal ashtray when I was waiting for my parent's discharge...... Then they spit on my car and wiped it around. Facility didn't care and I paid for my own carwash afterwards Majority of the staff was rude - especially managers and kitchen staff Bathrooms are NOT up to code- especially for the guests. WARNING I highly DO NOT recommend!this is a horrid horrible place!!! After my mom got a hip replacement at good Samaritan hospital they sent her to Vasona Creek health center for rehabilitation she wasn't sick with Covid until they put her in a room with Covid patients and ignored her!!!she went out of there in a body bag!! they highly ignored my mother, I know this because I talk to her on the telephone every day, up until the day she died!!! They don't care about their patients all they care about is the money they receive... read more

Did you take the time to notice that most of those who give this location a positive review are family members and not the actual residents. As a resident I will agrée that as individuals the staff is made up many wonderful people who are very caring and possess an incredible amount of Patience! Especially when considering how overworked and underpaid they are. As a result there's a high turnover. My issues were with the administration and, or, administrative staff and their policies. went in to vasona with shattered knee.a week into I had new roommate moved in to make three beds in roo. This new manswhife told him how things are going to be. . Anyway the new guy had dimensia and body slammed himself on my lnewly constructed knee (he didn know where he was not his fault. Staff refused to look into more medication temp as well refused to bring me to hospital for X-rays. They make it extremely difficult to access doctors to advocate for your loved one so they can progress and move on from there. If you have no choice but to place someone here, prepare to have to monitor their care closely. It is a zoo.

I have requested copies of any documents that either of us signed, which authorized the additional 2 week stay from 4/16 to 4/30. Nothing has been forthcoming and the facility has stopped communicating with our advocate, who is providing assistance to get all the facts. The next step will be an attorney or the media. If we signed anything that authorized the stay, then we will have proof to pay the bill. Otherwise, they are not allowed to bill us. It seems to me they are trying to sweep this under the rug.
In fairness, the facility looked nice and clean. It also had a lot of activities. However, the patient rooms looked to have 2 or 3 patients per room. My father died at this skilled nursing facility during his recovery. He was stuck in a Covid patient room that was very small and shared with another patient. My father had cleared Covid about a week earlier and was waiting to be placed in a new room. But none of the regular patient rooms were available. We kept waiting for an opening.
