Our boarding experience at Wag Hotels in West Sacramento was a disappointment. We booked the large deluxe suite for our two dogs. The employee explained their no outside bedding policy and assured me two beds would be in their suite. We also requested all-day play as part of their package. We dropped them off at 12:45pm on Friday and confirmed they'd be in all-day play as part of their package. I checked the all-day play camera at 2pm and they weren't there. They were in their suite. There was also only one bed in the suite.... read more

Hello Eulonda, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback regarding your dog's recent stay at our hotel. Your honest feedback allows us to learn, grow and improve the service and care we provide. We sincerely apologize that this was your, Winston, and Coco's experience during their stay. This is not the experience or level of care that we stand for or that we strive to provide for our guests. Please be assured that we will take immediate action within our team to fulfill the services that we offer to ... read more
Horrible pet hotel! You make reservations online or by calling and it takes about a week for them to either confirm or decline your reservation. Worst pet hotel ever! I would give them negative 10 stars if I could. I recommend to get a certified private pet sitter instead of dealing with a horrible pet hotel like WAG hotels.

When they are boarded, they only get 2 hours of play per day unless you pay a fee for all day play. They try to make it seem like a deal at $20, but at $92 a night, that's outrageous. I wasn't allowed to see the room, so I don't know what "large" means, as there aren't pictures or dimensions. He's in that room for 22 hours a day. Sounds weird to me. Every place I've ever boarded him, the all day play is part of it. They try to get you to add expensive add ons like walks, special treats, etc. They asked why I didn't bring toy... read more
Board your dog elsewhere. We boarded our dog here and added all day play only to find out that means our pup gets to be cramped in a small indoor play area with 30 dogs and one human handler. That's so unsafe!! We checked on the camera everyday, and it's just dogs walking around looking bored (honestly looked almost like anxious pacing, which is not at all normal for our dog). I brought it up when checking out and they said it is always like that. The handler will only play with the dog if they approach the handler?? Other... read more

Hi Jasmin, I am so sorry this was your experience with Lorem. He was a very sweet boy and we enjoyed having him very much! Please rest assured that our handlers are trained to monitor large groups of dogs as it is not uncommon for us to have 30 days in a play area. This training includes how to evaluate body language including what behaviors to encourage within a play setting and which to discourage or redirect for safety purposes. Please know that while our staff may not necessarily encourage specific guests to initiate pl... read more
I picked my dog up after an all-day-play day and she was absolutely traumatized. Shaking from head to toe and trying to crawl into my lap while I was driving. I had never seen her like that before or since. They told me she had been behaving badly but couldn't explain what they meant by that. They said she wasn't aggressive, yet they said they had to "isolate" her. I saw her on camera for the first hour of the day (mostly just hiding under a hammock), and then she was gone. I assume "isolate" means they put her in a crate ... read more

Hi, Im so sorry this was your pets experience with us. Yes, they did give a break for anxiety. The breaks are given in private rooms, not crates. We would be more then willing to talk on the phone with you about this.
We left our dog for boarding which is her first time being away from us. We thought everything will work out. When we're about to leave for the airport, they called and wanted our dog picked up. They said they could not handle her. I asked if they could do specialized care and denied it. Saying "no one can even touch our dog". My husband had to cancel his flight and went there to picked up our dog. He had to go inside the room which is supposed to be for staff only just to get our dog and that's what he noticed inside. My ... read more

Paid $422 for a BLOOD BATH. We have been loyal wag customers for the past 8 years. We picked up our dogs today after a weekend trip. After driving away we realized there was blood all over my clothes, my husbands clothes and our other dog. During the 30 minute ride home we couldn't get the bleeding to stop. We took our dog to pet smart who spent 25 minutes after hours to get the bleeding to stop. The groomer informed us they had quicked not one but ALL FIVE of her back left paw nails. Wag failed to communicate ANY of this to... read more

Sarah, Thank you for taking the time to speak with our GM about the situation. We have learned from this and will continue to educate the team. Sincerely, Ryan
So disappointed. I've been using Wag Hotels for years when I travel and had just used the West Sacramento location for a three night stay prior to the most recent four night stay that left my dog with a red left eye. The West Sacramento appears to no longer provide report cards, so I had to call to inquire about what happened and was told no one even noticed that he had a red eye based on their notes. This clearly indicates that they were not paying attention because his entire left eye was a deep red. They did call back... read more

I’m so sorry that we were not able to provide more details about this. Our leadership team is aware of the situation and will provide any more details if possible. As of now there is no indication of any trauma occurring during the stay. We hope that you do use our services in the future, this situation does not reflect our values and would like to make it up to you. Thank you
I took my Labrador here for one night of boarding. I packed his food and had baggies for each of the two meals (easy and ready to feed). When I returned, they gave me back all his food. Meaning he wasn't fed. They claim they fed their own food by accident, but I am not sure how I could trust them with the care of my dog if they can't even feed him. Will not be returning. Also every time I pick him up from Wag he REAKS of urine....
