Disappointing Worked great for a month. However, now it will not go up the small incline in the pool. Seems to stay in the same area. Barely picks up anything. My hubby checked to make sure nothing broke. Even ordered a new part for it, now I just got an expensive piece of crap that stays in the deep end.
Save Your Money Got this MX6 via my pool maintenance company on sale. They must be incentivized to see it because it is marginally useful. As other said, it works for the first couple of months and then becomes sluggish and ceases to climb walls. Not a setting issu, nor is it clogged or needing maintenance. Now when the pool kicks on it goes directly to the bottom drain and sits there, causing air bubbles in the pump (even when bottom drain suction is turned completely off.). Vacuum stopped working before 1yr. Very disappointed with this vacuum. When I first bought this vacuum it worked perfectly. This year when we opened the pool in April it wouldn’t work. I contacted the company in regards to getting it replaced or fixed because it was within the one year. It’s now September and all they did was advice me to adjust the flow of the pool. Worst purchase ever This has been the worst purchase ever on Amazon. The vacuum gets stuck everywhere. We are continuously going out to the backyard to free it up. Also it never completely cleans entire surface are total disappointment and waste of $400.
CONSTANTLY stuck I did not purchase this product on Amazon. However, after 3 years of dealing with this junk I felt it necessary to warn other potential buyers. I have a pebble-tec pool and variable speed pump, This vacuum CONSTANTLY gets stuck in the same corner, every single day. I have a long bench in the shallow end of my pool and this vacuum gets stuck at the bottom of this bench, turning its tracks but staying in place until i move it. when i move it, 10 minutes later its back in the same corner....stuck....again. poor substitute for the MX8 I bought this product to replace an MX-8 which wore out after years of great performance. The MX-6 is essentially 1/2 of an MX-8 with regard to it's construction. The performance is poor at best, when it's working at all. It will move and clean for approx. 10 min, then get stuck on a blade of grass or something in the pool and stop working entirely. Sub Par, if that! I really like how the way it looked and when it works it works well. I wish it was still in my time range to where I could return it. Unfortunately this cleaner needs a lot of attention and stops working easily. It's very temper-mental trying to get this cleaner to work. If you do not have a screen cage over the pool I would stay away from this pool cleaner. The smallest leaves and pebbles will stop this cleaner. Must fix constantly! Do you need a pool sweep that will need you to take it apart and fix it for every small bit of palm frond, every pine needle, and every piece of hair? Then this is the sweep for you! I have owned this piece of junk for a year now and hated it every day. It works with a spinning gear that sweeps all items that are 4 inches or longer (like a thin small strip of a palm frond or women’s hair) into it, twisting the hair (or whatever) around the gear and making it jam to a grinding halt.
