I was given an option to purchase this "extended warranty" through a dealer when I purchased a fairly high end used car ($38k). Although the car overall has been very good, two major repairs, a handful of minor repairs along with the "peace of mind" that had after that, made the purchase a very worthwhile.

We bought a Platinum protection warranty on our used 2012 Kia Sorento. We were fortunate that we never had to use the warranty. I always felt, when we bought the policy, that if we were lucky enough to never have serious car problems that somehow, in the end, we wouldn't get our full warranty amount back. I was wrong! I've had Fidelity Warranty auto services on my 2012 Acura TL for four years. Two weeks ago was the first time that I had to use the service. The customer service rep with whom I spoke was very courteous, professional, and helpful. He answered all of my questions and guided me through the repair process. My car needed $2600 worth of work for multiple issues, most of which was covered under my warranty.
