I am an EA and set up calls all day and I really love the ability to generate multiple conference lines and set expiration dates for certain lines. So far everything has been very easy to navigate on the site. Also, my favorite number has always been 8 so I was a fan from the start :)
The system works okay overall. My issue is with the customer service. You are able to contact someone VERY easily up until your purchase is made. After that, good luck. The only way to talk to someone is via the chat feature (which "mysteriously" disconnects at convenient times) or you can try calling the toll-free number (good luck getting your issue resolved there). I love how 8x8's Virtual Office allows me to quickly connect with the person I'm looking for. Prior to 8x8, I was constantly having to hunt through a not always up to date contacts list of my company's 16 US manufacturing locations. Thanks 8x8!
One of the most convenient features for me is the notification/delivery of voicemails by email. As I don't always have the ability to answer the phone, I can make an informed decision through the email delivery of voicemail whether it's a call I need to return right away. I find that very helpful.
We love that we can answer the phone from 4 hours away and we are still able to transfer calls from building to building. (Our buildings are 4 hours apart.) So I can answer a call and transfer it to another division.
We had been using another Company to host our VOIP services for several years. Aside from the constant service outages, we could never get answers as to how long the service would be down, the technical help was useless and the phones that they sold us for the system we terrible and they refused to swap them. Their website was useless and impossible to navigate. On top of it all, the charges were extremely high and they kept trying to lock us in to long term Contracts to save only a few dollars!!! I love how 8x8 allows us to see the person calling in, the information we have in the system for that person, the fact we are able to rate the call and also change the options to rate the calls as it pertains to our company and what we do.
ease of use
Too new to tell. We are still going through the implementation process. I have heard folks around the office talking about how much they love the integration with mobile devices and desktop devices. Very excited about this new system.
