I signed up for smile direct club in April 2023. They sent me daytime aligners when I had requested night time aligners. I called to speak to someone about this issue and just cancel my account because right after they came in I got engaged and now did not have the money to spend. The representative on the phone on May 26th told me to just take the box to *** and send it back and my account would be canceled and I even got my $250 deposit back. I received my 1st set of Aligners in early May and was scheduled to be finished in August. After reaching out a few times I finally was able to get help because my teeth were not shifting the way they told me. They did offer to do a free touch up which I drove over a hour away to have them scan my teeth because I was told that was more accurate than an impression kit. The convenience of at home dental aligners sounded like a great idea, until I learned the hard way it was anything BUT convenient. I started my treatment in September 2022 and right off the bat, my first aligner didn't fit. I reached out to customer service and they told me to try the second aligner – it was pretty uncomfortable, but I did as they instructed (skipping the first aligner entirely) and began my treatment. after completing my smile journey and paying $2000 , not only was I not able to continue to receive aligners until i was satisfied with my smile ; I was told to pay an additional $250 if i wanted to continue. after that , I was told that if i wanted to continue with smile direct and receive more aligners I would have to start over and pay $2000 again because of the period of time it took for me to fight to receive aligners without paying for it was considered out of warranty at that point. I have been trying to receive support from Smile Direct Club on my insurance forms since August 8th, and all they keep sending me is the receipt. I’ve been notified multiple times that, despite me providing the *****forms, there continue to be delays from the dentist needing to sign off. I finally received an email last week saying they were complete, only to receive an entirely blank form and yet another receipt. A year ago I decided to use the services of Smail Direct Club.I followed all the instructions and continue to wear the aligners at night.They give a lifetime guarantee on my smile, but my teeth are still not straight and do not match the 3D model that was shown to me before the treatment began. After I contacted them, I was told that I would still have to pay an additional $300 for a set of aligners. Why should I pay extra money? I have been dealing with smile direct for 4 years now!! I started this journey with a 4 month treatment. After the 4 months my teeth looked amazing , so straight, but I could not properly chew my food anymore because my back teeth didn’t touch . I have had my aligners changed 5 times and my teeth still aren’t right , because they have moved them to where they are not straight anymore and InSTILL can’t chew properly.
